PROGRAMS & PROJECTS
AREA AGENCY ON AGING
Through the North Delta Area Agency on Aging, we assist six parishes within our district in administration of programs to assist Senior Citizens. Whether our Senior Citizens receive services from only one program, or from many of these programs, their quality of life is enhances through the dedicated efforts of the Councils on Aging who actually render these services. These programs are funded through the Governor's Office of Elderly Affairs. They include:
- Supportive Services
- Home delivered meals
- Congregate meals
- Preventive health
- Senior Centers
- Wellness and transportation
Additionally, the Ombudsman Program assists in watchdog efforts of nursing homes in the entire district.
